The clutch dise contain a circular metal plate attached to a reinforced splined hub.Often the hub is mounted on coil springs to cushioned engaements.The splined hub is free to slide lengthwise along the transmission input shaft.When engaged,the clutch disc drives the input shaft thought these splines.The clutch disc operates in conjunction with a pressure or a clutch cover.In its operating position in the engin/transmission linkup,the clutch dise is sandwiched between the engine flywheel and clutch pressure plate.
